Phoenix Mountain, BC: Mountain Playground Group Spotlight

Phoenix Mountain is a member of the Mountain Playground Group, an international consortium of 8 like-minded community ski areas banding together to drive down expenses while increasing efficiencies and profits, working on large scale initiatives, as well as increasing market awareness.

Welcome to Phoenix

Operated by Phoenix Mountain Alpine Ski Society (PMASS), Phoenix Mountain is located between Grand Forks and Greenwood, in south central British Columbia.  Nestled deep in the heart of the BC Boundary region, the non-profit owned and operated ski area has been providing community based skiing since 1969.

PM T Bar

Phoenix Mountain’s two story day lodge includes a full service cafeteria that serves beer and wine. The south facing deck is ideal for watching the action on the slopes. There is a full service rental and repair shop adjacent to the lodge.

From the top of the mountain looking north, the view of the Monashee Mountains are fantastic.

Looking North

The ski area has 16 runs plus a good terrain park and jump line, especially for a mountain of it’s side. This season, some locals built a ski luge run on one of the trails, providing a new element of fun.

Season Pass holders receive extensive reciprocity discounts at other British Columbia, Alberta and northern Washington ski areas.

Phoenix Mountain offers the world’s only free headlamp night skiing. Hosted several Saturdays throughout the season, local businesses, skiers  and riders use the T-Bar to ascend, then ski down by headlamp.
